POPstore KioskRemote is a remote monitoring software that
can be used to monitor the status of the key components for a
kiosk. Unlike the POPstore KioskGuard that is
hardware-centric, this is a client-server software engine with
client software simply residing in the kiosk hard disk. It runs in
the background and continues to probe the status of the key
components. Once it detects any status change, it will
communicate with the server that is web-based for showing the
overall status for paper status, reader condition and overall
status.
Most kiosk applications today have overlooked the importance
for continuous unmanned operation. The most challenging part
is to deal with transaction-oriented application with real print-out
and consumables output. It is especially critical to ensure the
print paper and consumables are sufficient and there is no jam
in the dispensing. Otherwise, the kiosk can become out of
service easily. POPstore KioskRemote is specially designed to
facilitate the automatic detection of fault status so as to enable
prompt actions for corrective and preventive maintenance.
